Protecting the Future of Youth Sports

We empower players, coaches, and parents with the critical knowledge needed to recognize, respond to, and prevent concussions in youth athletics.

The Goal:

Our goal is to keep players on the ice as long as possible. By preserving the brains of young players, we can ensure that they can continue to play years after they graduate high school or college, and can enjoy the sport for as long as possible.

CONCUSSION AWARENESS — KNOWLEDGE IS PROTECTION — ACT FAST — PREVENT INJURY — SAFETY FIRST — KNOWLEDGE IS PROTECTION —

10%

Loss of Consciousness

Only about 10% of concussions involve a loss of consciousness. Most occur due to a sudden jolt or impact to the head.

50%

Unreported Cases

Approximately half of youth sports concussions go unreported. Early recognition is critical for proper recovery.

0%

Structural Damage

Modern imaging like CT scans or MRI does not rule out a concussion. It affects brain function, not just structure.

Spotting & Response

Recognizing the signs of a concussion is the first step in protecting your child's health. We provide the essential knowledge for coaches and parents to act swiftly and effectively when a concussion is suspected.

Modern Recovery Protocols

We emphasize a science-based approach to concussion management. The first 24-48 hours require relative rest to allow the brain to stabilize. This is followed by a structured, gradual return to activity to prevent secondary injury and ensure full cognitive recovery.

24-48 Hour Rest

A period of relative rest is essential. This means avoiding high-intensity physical activity and intense cognitive tasks to allow the brain to stabilize and heal.

Gradual Return

After the initial rest phase, a gradual return to school and light activity is recommended. This process is monitored closely by healthcare professionals to ensure safety.

Prevention Strategies

We emphasize the critical importance of reporting every suspected concussion. Early identification prevents long-term neurological damage and ensures a safe return to play for every athlete.

Spotting the Signs

Recognizing symptoms like dizziness or confusion is the first step in prevention. We provide coaches with the tools to act immediately and safely.

Reporting all suspected concussions is not just a recommendation; it is a legal and medical necessity. We empower teams to create a culture of safety and accountability.
